Is the project eligible?
The building(s) must be listed, scheduled as an ancient monument or in a Conservation Area (if in a Conservation Area, it must be of acknowledged historic or architectural importance). If you are not sure whether a building is listed etc, call the planning department of the local authority concerned.

The project must involve a change of ownership and/or a change of use.

The project must be in the United Kingdom: England, Northern Ireland, Scotland or Wales (The AHF cannot assist projects in the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man). If you are not sure whether the project or the charity qualify, please ask the AHF.

The AHF is offering small grants until the end of 2014 for developing built heritage projects in the priority areas of South Wales, the East Midlands or for industrial heritage buildings at risk anywhere in England. The criteria differs slightly from above in that it is open to any not-for-profit organisation such as industrial & provident societies, community benefit societies and community interest groups, as well as registered charities who own or intend to acquire the building at risk.
